About the Role
Reporting to the General Manager, Assets and Operations, the Manager Asset Planning leads the development and implementation of Westernport Water’s asset strategies and future servicing plans. This senior role oversees strategic planning to ensure water and wastewater assets meet the needs of a growing community and the challenges of a changing climate. The Manager will lead a multidisciplinary team in developing the Water Plan capital works program, managing asset risk and compliance, and providing expert advice on long-term asset investment decisions. The role will prepare reports and present to Board throughout the year and is also accountable for ensuring regulatory compliance, driving continuous improvement in asset management systems, and contributing to legacy infrastructure decisions that will shape the region for decades to come.
About You
We are seeking a forward thinking and people-focused leader with proven expertise in asset strategy and planning. You will be a qualified engineer (civil engineering preferred, but not mandatory) with substantial experience in either the water sector, utilities, or related infrastructure environments such as local government or public sector projects. You combine technical capability with strong leadership and interpersonal skills, able to guide and mentor a diverse team while engaging effectively across the organisation and with external stakeholders. You bring curiosity, commercial acumen, and the ability to balance technical excellence with practical decision-making. Above all, you are committed to innovation, sustainability, and delivering high-quality services that make a tangible difference to our customers and community.
